How it works

  1. Step 1

    Choose the job

Pick a job you've saved or paste the advert. The questions are written for that role and your CV.

  2. Step 2

    Answer five questions

Two competency questions on what the job needs most, one technical, one on why you want the role and one on a line from your own CV.

  3. Step 3

    See what to sharpen

Each answer is rated on four things, with the words from your answer that show it, one change to make and the follow-up you'd likely get.

Question 1 of 5 · Competency

Tell me about a time you found an error in the month-end numbers. What did you do?

During the March close I noticed accruals were higher than usual, traced it to a supplier invoice that had been posted twice through the payables import, and reversed it before the management pack went out. Afterwards I added a duplicate check to our close checklist.

    Your own role

It's clear you found it and fixed it.

I noticed accruals were higher than usual

One thing to improve

Say how large the duplicated invoice was, so the interviewer can judge why it mattered.

They might ask next

How did you make sure the same thing didn't happen at the next close?

The four things we look at

Answers the question

Did you answer what was asked, or a question you'd prefer?

Structure

Is it easy to follow: the situation, what you did and the result?

Specifics and evidence

Scale, numbers, tools and outcomes rather than generalities.

Your own role

Is it clear what you did yourself, not only what the team did?

We never comment on personality, confidence, accent or anything personal. Only on what your answer says.

Questions about interview practice

Is the feedback written by AI?

Yes. The questions and the feedback are written by AI, then checked: quotes must come from your own answer, and suggestions can't add facts or figures you didn't give. Treat it as practice, not a verdict.

Is it a conversation with an AI interviewer?

No. You answer each question in writing and get feedback on that answer. You can try each question up to three times.

Do I get a score?

No overall score or pass mark. Each of the four areas is rated strong, developing or missing, with the reason, so you know what to work on.

What does it cost?

Your first session is free. After that, each session of five questions uses one credit, and you're only charged once the questions are ready.

Is my answer kept private?

Your answers are saved to your account so you can look back at them, and nobody else can see them. They're never sent to analytics. You can delete your account and everything in it at any time.
