How it thinks

One vague line, read like a recruiter would

We don’t rewrite your CV in one go. We find your vaguest lines, say what a hiring manager actually reads, and ask for the facts that would change their mind.

  1. 1

    Your line

    Responsible for credit control.

  2. 2

    What a recruiter reads

Reads as a job remit: a hiring manager can’t tell whether you ran credit control or supported it, or how big the ledger was.

  3. 3

    What it could become

your part credit control for how many accounts, what changed

  4. 4

    Two quick questions

    • I ran it, as the sole controller
    • “About 300 trade accounts, £4m of sales a month. Over-60-day debt fell from 18% to 9%.”
  5. 5

    Your stronger line

Managed credit control for about 300 trade accounts and roughly £4m of monthly sales as sole controller; over-60-day debt fell from about 18% to 9%

Why trust it

Why not just ask a chatbot?

You can. Here’s what’s different when every line has to stand up in an interview.

Figures

A general chatbot fills gaps with plausible numbers (“reduced costs by 30%”) you then have to defend.

Coffee & Excel asks for the number. If you don't give one, the line doesn't get one.

Your role

A general chatbot upgrades “helped with” to “led” because it reads better.

Coffee & Excel keeps your verb unless your answer says otherwise, and checks every rewrite against what you said.

UK and Irish finance

A general chatbot writes a US-style résumé and guesses at qualification wording.

Coffee & Excel follows UK and Irish CV norms and words ACA, ACCA, CIMA and CFA status the way each body requires.

Our standards come from published guidance by UK and Irish recruiters and the professional bodies, including ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA, CFA Institute and the ACT. How we use AI

Questions people ask

Do you write my CV for me?

No. We build your CV from the lines you've confirmed. Suggestions reword or reorder what's already there, and when a line is vague we ask you questions so you can add the detail yourself.

Will it invent achievements or numbers?

No. Every suggested change is checked against your own evidence before you see it: numbers, names, tools and qualifications must come from what you've told us. If something is missing, we ask you about it rather than filling the gap.

Will my CV get through applicant tracking systems?

We don't give you a score or a pass rate, because no one can honestly promise one. All four CV styles are single-column, real text in a sensible reading order, which applicant tracking systems read reliably.

Is it free to start?

Yes. You don't need a card. You get five starter credits, and uploading your CV, confirming it, analysing jobs and strengthening your lines (three rounds a day on the free plan) don't use credits at all.

What can I upload?

Text-based PDFs, Word documents and plain text, up to 10 MB. Scanned PDFs (images of text) aren't supported yet.

Who can see my CV?

Only you. AI helps read your CV and suggest wording, working only from what you tell us, and you can turn it off at any time in Privacy. You can also delete your account at any time, which removes your CVs, evidence, files and history straight away.
